Handwriting Instruction Aligned to the Science of Reading and Writing

The Handwriting Collaborative is an organization of curriculum specialists, educators, researchers, and school-based therapists. We provide professional development training in best-practice handwriting instruction, and consultation on research-based intervention strategies for improving written expression.

Our Team

We are a diverse team of handwriting curriculum specialists, educators, academic researchers, and school-based occupational therapists who are committed to supporting children, parents, teachers, and school administrators with handwriting skill development.  Contact us to see how you can join us or how our team can support yours.

Our History

Handwriting is more than just a fine motor skill. A growing body of research shows that handwriting instruction and handwriting skill impact students' overall literacy development. The Handwriting Collaborative was formed to connect educators and parents with the training and resources necessary to provide research-based handwriting instruction to all learners.

Our Mission

In today's classrooms the emphasis on student achievement through written expression is at its highest. At The Handwriting Collaborative our mission is to provide consultation and professional development for best-practice instruction in the writing process and the transcription skills that ALL learners need for their literacy development.

Support Our Mission

Your contribution will have a direct impact in helping The Handwriting Collaborative to continue our ongoing research in, and support of, the handwriting instructional needs of the educational community.
